Placerville Speedway forced to cancel Saturday May 21 event
Placerville, CA (May 20)...Due to heavy rainfall and an unfavorable weekend forecast, Placerville Speedway has been forced to cancel Saturday night's Red Hawk Casino Championship Series race.
"Unfortunately, with the amount of rain we've received, the amount of rain we are expecting, and the cold temperatures in the forecast, we feel it is best to call the event now and allow people to make other plans for the evening ", track promoter Scott Russell said. "The last thing we want to do is cancel events. But, obviously we can't control mother nature."
In addition to the race being canceled, the "Fan Appreciation Day" Car Show scheduled for Saturday afternoon at the Thompson Buick/GMC location on Placerville Drive has been rescheduled to coincide with the June 25th Placerville Posse race date.
Action at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds resumes June 4, after a hiatus next weekend in observance of Memorial weekend. Round 8 will feature a four division program consisting of the Thompson's Auto Group 360 Sprint Cars, Domco Plumbing Limited Late Models, Jay's Mobile Welding and Fabricating Pure Stocks, as well as the fourth appearance of the year for the BCRA Midget Lites. Pit gates will open at 2PM with the front gates opening at 3PM. Racing begins at 7PM.
